Do You Struggle With Confidence
Do you struggle with confidence? I mean there are so many messages about having confidence, feeling more confident, and the worst, the paralyzing effect that a lack of confidence can illicit.
But what about confidence in our walk with God? Or is it all about us and how we feel about ourselves? I’m not suggesting that having confidence (how many times can I use that word in a post?) is a bad thing, I’m not even suggesting that it isn’t necessary to some degree.
However, I do wonder what our confidence within ourselves has to do with God, and our walk with Jesus. I mean if we struggle with something, well anything, we need to ask God. The best way to do that is by prayer and reading the bible.
Have you asked God about that
So if this is an area you struggle with have you asked God about that? Or is it something we have decided to carry until eternity. I truly believe God’s word covers every single thing we would ever struggle with, period.
How can a Christian gain confidence?
Yes, we should pray, seek, ask. But we ask God because HE made us. We are going to struggle in so many ways but we are never, ever hopeless even if we feel helpless.
Oh, God covered that area as well. He gave us fellow believers, The Holy Spirit, and The Scripture.
Okay now that I got that out of the way. I want to ask you… Does your struggle with confidence hinder your obedience to God? Because I believe that is the heart of the matter.
That’s what I speak on in the latest Podcast Episode. You can find it below or here.

I struggle with Confidence
I’m going to go ahead a share that I struggle with confidence. Mostly with the things of God to be transparent with you. Writing this blog, having a Podcast, having a Youtube channel. I can’t tell you how many times I’m like “Cheriesse, who cares what you have to say.” Or why should anyone care?
I’m not putting myself out there for the fun of it. Nor because I’m 100% confident in myself, I am not. But I’m confident that I should be doing what God has prompted me to do.
Because, well, God impressed this on my heart and I can’t get away from the prompting to do this Style And Stewardship thing.
I can’t confidently answer that within myself or my abilities. However, I do know that God has made me for a purpose that I don’t have to understand in order to carry it out.
Hey you, that’s reading this. God has something very important for you to do! You don’t need another sign, or feel confident to be obedient! You were created with more beauty than you know.
When we speak of confidence we need to get clear on what we mean by that. If it has to do with appearance, wounds, self-esteem, or if it encompasses all those things.
You don’t need another sign, or feel confident in order to be obedient!
-Style And Stewardship
Those things are not all equal by the way.
God does not think the way we do
But I feel sometimes those words and phrases are used interchangeably. If we are struggling with outward appearances let’s be reminded God does not think the way we do.
He doesn’t judge by outward appearances so if that is an area that we struggle then we may need to be reminded that God made us.
Our features were crafted by the Creator of the universe and Jesus didn’t care about our jean size when he took our sin upon himself and offered the only sacrifice acceptable to a just and holy God on the Cross.
Let that sink in.

How to overcome
Like anything else, this is simply stated, and granted it takes a bit more practice to do. But you can go to the word of God and see what God has to say about where your confidence should be and “who” it should be in.
Hint: We shouldn’t place our hope or confidence in anything that fades or can change in a second.
How do I get over confidence issues that arise? I focus on what God says about me, and on what HE has told me to do.
So what if you never fit in those pants if you are obedient to whatever God has called you to do in the time you were given.
I think it’s time to be real with ourselves about “confidence” and really figure out what we mean by “struggling with confidence.”
Hopefully we are not actually struggling with Obedience.
#justsaying
I’m thankful that Jesus didn’t need confidence in himself. Neither did Moses, or Sarah, or Gideon, or Noah, or Paul, etc.
Yeah, they struggled with a lack of “confidence” but they were committed to doing what God called them to do.
They went forth not necessarily confident not without fear or some doubts.
But….
They went forward!
And their Confidence was in GOD.
