Investing in Your Health as A Christian Woman: Why There’s No Perfect Season
If you have ever said, “I will take care of my health when life slows down, the kids get older, or this season is less busy.” This episode is for you. There is no perfect season to invest in your health as a Christian woman. Putting your health last may be costing you more than you think. I get it, I’ve been there, and taking care of your health on purpose may feel like something else you have to add to your list.
You’re Not Lazy, You’re Depleted
You’re not putting off your health because you’re lazy. You’re not! But you may be in a place of depletion as you are doing “all – the – things.”
The Real Cost of Waiting
There is a cost of waiting because our health doesn’t wait. Your health is dynamic, not stagnant; there are ebbs and flows and different seasons of a woman’s life. While we wait, we may be borrowing against our health. The issues that are already there continue to shift without intentional support.
“When we wait to take care of our health, we lose capacity and resilience.”
What Investing in Your Health Actually Looks Like
So what does investing in your health actually look like? It looks like structure, real food, intentional choices, support, and using data as a starting point through the lens of stewardship.
Many Christian women (especially Moms) are doing so much to care for everyone else, and that’s a beautiful thing. However, at times, we push our own health further and further to the back-burner.
But your health doesn’t wait.
Stewardship is a Spiritual Practice
Stewarding your health goes beyond just taking care of something else on your list. It’s stewardship, which is a spiritual practice because your life and health matter to God. Scripture says:
“Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own” 1 Corinthians 6:19
Stewardship is so much more than managing our finances (though that’s important). Everything I share here is about lifestyle stewardship because we are not our own.
What we have to manage has been graciously given to us by Christ. He gives us so much grace to be intentional (not perfect) stewards of every gift He has entrusted to us.
There is no Perfect Season to Support Your Health
Life moves fast, and seasons change quickly. The health that you put off can’t support you like the day-to-day investing in your health can. There is no perfect time or season to support your health.
