Week in Review

This week in Review, I’m sharing what this past week looked like for me. In a post last week I shared that I would be creating this type of blog post to be a regular addition to the S + S Blog. It’s a peek into my week from the ordinary to the things that just stuck out to me that week. I hope it helps you get to know me a little better and I hope you get a tip or two to implement in your week. Let’s jump in.

I’ve been making a Snack/Breakfast recipe that I created for my family. This recipe became an instant hit and now it is a staple in our home. Whenever I shared one of the Peanutbutter, Coconut Protein balls with anyone they asked for the recipe.

After my Hubs urging for years to “remember how I made that,” I began writing down recipes on a little notepad that I keep in the Kitchen. Now when someone asked me for a recipe I actually had one to give them LOL. I shared the super simple recipe for these Peanutbutter and Coconut Protein Balls on the Blog last week. Here’s the recipe link if you haven’t checked it out yet.

If you happen to try it and like it please tag me on Instagram @styleandstewardship or Pin it on Pinterest! They are also Vegan and Dairy Free and super versatile you can change this to suit your dietary preferences. Add Hemp seeds for protein, a different nut butter, and nix the coconut for more oats if you want. Make it your own and make it work for You!

Week in Review – Spiritual

Have you ever found that you read a verse in scripture and you can’t remember it? This happens to me and if I’m honest I bounce around a lot with what I read. I began an old practice of writing verses of scripture out and not simply reading.

I’m not sure if you use a Bible App, a traditional bible with pages or both. First thing in the morning I start the coffee Pot (S.O to my Hubs he makes mine and all I have to do is press the button) and then I reach for my phone.

Don’t lie, you reach for your phone too!

What I found was I really, really like to have a physical page-turning experience. I guess that’s why I don’t do the whole Ebook thing. Well, the same goes for reading my Word.

I love having the convenience of having the YouVersion App on my phone especially for the Bible reading plans.

It’s super handy to have different translations on the App as well such as the Amplified, New Living Translation, and more.

However, I have to read my physical Bible and I also have to Write. I just do!

So the practice of writing verses of Scripture that I highlighted on my phone and writing down different translations has helped me grasp what I’m reading better.

Writing helps me remember and I have that tangible word to look at in my own writing. Not sure what it is about that but try it and see if it helps you!

Week in Review – Organizing

Here’s the thing I am not super organized. This is due to the fact that I typically have a ton of things I’m attempting to start doing all at once. Ugh, my creative side is strong lol. In order to keep my whits and save my Hubs from my clutter, the organization has become a necessity. I don’t know about you but I have to be really intentional about organizing or it drops to the bottom of the To-do list.

Under the bathroom sink was screaming for a bit of order. My idea of organizing is putting everything in a bin or basket lol. But for real!

Big Lots had these great bins for $6.00 so we scooped them up. It was a quick solution to a cluttered space. I placed some absorbent cloths from the Dollar Tree in the bottom and got rid of a bunch of products that were just taking up realty under the sink.

This may change in the future but it will work for now. “Not a total Betty but a vast improvement.”

Exact bins at Big Lots can be found here. They were $6.00* and hold a lot. Similar Bins can be found here . These are a great option too and I may end up getting these for another organizing project

Make the best of what you have and don’t spend a fortune if you can help it! That’s my Motto

Looking Back at The Week – Intentional Living

The To-Do list was long and I’ve come to realize that priorities are priorities and to-do lists are to-do lists. Everything does not have to hold equal value and how well my week went has more to do with leaning on God than on My List or My Planning. I wrote about that very thing at the top of the year. Check it out here. Also, Give yourself Grace. That was for someone!

Needless to say, I didn’t get everything done that I may have wanted to but it really is all good. Every day is a new day with new Mercy! So I’m choosing to be Contented in that fact.

Content creation has been a heavy topic for me lately. Everyone seems to have an opinion on that in the Blog world and Social Media world. I use the word ‘World’ for a reason and it has a life of its own.

I will delve more into that topic at a later date. Currently, I’m just trying to put things out that have a purpose beyond me.

Whether it’s to help you Steward/Manage your finances by finding a great deal. Or if it is sharing what the Lord has placed on my heart, that’s what I want to share. I am on a steep learning curve as to how to best do that tbh.

If you have read any of my other posts you may see that I am transparent with what I’m learning or the thoughts I’m sifting through.

This Past Week – Creativity

For The Ree Brand (My Handcrafted Jewelry Line) I created some new earrings that I’m super excited about. To say I am Loving working with Clay to make jewelry would be an understatement!

Whenever I get to work on new creations I am on cloud 9. I shared some new pieces that I made this week in My Shop, Here and on The Ree Brand Instagram page as well.

Style and Stewardship – Style This Week

This week I found such a fantastic deal and I’m glad I had the budget for it. These two pieces I shared on Stories on my Instagram. The pieces I picked up look way more expensive than they were and the quality seems pretty darn good.

Both items came from Walmart and I can’t wait to rock them. I’m going to go online and see if I can snag some more great deals.

I’ve included links if you want to purchase online or see if your local Walmart has these items. I know prices and availability vary in each Region.

This Puffer jacket was under $12 bucks at my local Walmart. The color is Spiced Cider.

I love this jacket and how sleek it looks for a puffer jacket. The hood is detachable and the color is beautiful. It’s $19.99* online and you can find it here.

This Puffer Jacket was on Clearance so if you like it, scoop it up. It looks like it came from J.Crew

These Moto Jeans by No Boundaries were an Awesome deal at Walmart

These Jeans look expensive in-person. They would easily go for $100 elsewhere. The fit is great and I paid under $12.00* at my local Walmart!

Online they are still only $12.98*. You can find them here.

I’m also rocking my favorite boots that go with just about everything from Target.

Yep, you guessed it the boots were purchased on sale also.

My Favorite Micro Suede Boots from Target

These boots are comfortable and I wear them every week. For under $26.00* they look like they cost more. Find them here

You will see the recurring theme of Saving and not paying full retail pricing on this Blog! If I do it’s because it was still a great deal and great quality.

The more you can save on the things you want. The more you will have to spend on the things you need – That’s my motto

I purchased from Zappos for the first time and had to return a pair of shoes. I ordered the wrong size for my son and their Customer service was Amazing! This is not sponsored!

Zappos made the process so painless and shipped my Son’s new kicks within days.

They even sent a Thank you Card

I unintentionally purchased the same brand of Kicks for both of us. His were from Zappos and mine were from Joe’s New Balance Outlet which I’ve mentioned here on the blog already.

We both got a comfortable pair of New Balance Sneakers and I highly recommend both sites! I’m going to be purchasing from Zappos for myself soon!

Click here for the New Balance Kids they are on sale for $25.48 *!! I actually paid $39.99*

A Little Selfcare This Week

If you have skin issues I feel you! If you do not God Bless you LOL! My skin and allergies have been going NUTS over the last couple of months.

So I’m attempting to use some different products to get my acne in check. I’ve only had these items for one week but so far I see some benefits.

Sometimes you learn what does NOT work for you. Like the following: Witch Hazel, Micellar Water, and anything with Alcohol. Products with these ingredients make my acne worse so I needed a new game plan for makeup removal.

There were a bunch of different options for cloth makeup removers but I chose these from Amazon.

These cloths caught my eye because they claimed to remove makeup without the use of anything but the cloth.

They really do take off my makeup and it’s long-wear matte makeup so that’s impressive.

The cloth really removes makeup and the antibacterial face scrubber is gentle

The little silicone scrubbers come in a two-pack. They are antibacterial and gentle you can find them here. I paid under $6.00*

The Makeup remover cloths come in a pack of 6 find them here.

Cera Ve face wash can be found here (pack of 2) or a single bottle here.

Selfcare – New Hair Products

It was about time to straighten my hair but I was out of heat-protectant, I’m beyond pleased with the Sleek heat protection line I purchased.

Honestly, I didn’t know how well these products would work on my hair specifically.

And hello, Amazon Prime was offering one-day shipping and they were super inexpensive.

The thermal smoothing cream can be found here. $4.08*

The thermal heat spray can be found here. $3.55*

**Keep in mind these prices are all based on the date of this post.

Well, that wraps up this week. I hope you enjoyed this post format! Not everything was shared from this past week but I wanted to share what would be most helpful to you!
