These grain-free almond flour waffles are delicious, crispy, golden, and also egg-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free. If you are someone who wants a simple and delicious recipe that considers your allergies or dietary goals this one is for you.

My husband and son devour these whenever I make them. They freeze well and are perfect for those Saturday morning breakfasts that feel like a treat!

Even though these waffles are made with almond flour they are not dense or heavy at all.

They are light and crispy! I also kept it dairy-free by using my favorite avocado oil.

Ingredients to Make Grain-Free Almond Flour Waffles

Blanched Almond Flour

Tapioca Flour

Avocado Oil

Baking Powder – Try my grain-free baking powder recipe here

Almond Milk or Coconut Milk

Sea salt

Chia Seeds (mill these by using a spice or coffee grinder or a blender)

Vanilla Extract

Sugar

Apple Cider Vinegar

Tools to Make Grain Free Paleo Waffles

You will need a few items to make these grain free and egg free waffles:

Waffle Iron: I’ve been using this one for years

Mixing bowl

Whisk or fork

Measuring Spoon

Measuring Cup

Blender, Spice Mill, I used a Coffee Grinder to make the Milled Chia Seeds

Wire rack

How to Make Egg Free Paleo Almond Flour Waffles

Add almond flour, tapioca flour, sugar, sea salt, milled chia seeds, grain free baking powder (baking powder recipe can be found here) to a mixing bowl and whisk until combined.

Next add vanilla extract, apple cider vinegar, avocado oil, and almond milk to a bowl and mix.

Add liquid to dry ingredient and whisk until combined.

Heat your waffle iron and add the batter once it’s heated.

My waffle iron goes up to a 5 on the heat setting and I heat mine at number 4 until the light turns green. Your waffle iron may have a dial that indicates when it is ready and fully heated.

You can use some avocado oil spray if your surface is not non-stick.

Next, add the mixture to the waffle iron and close it until it’s cooked through.

Your waffle iron may have an indicator light to let you know when it’s done.

I typically wait until the steam stops.

Egg-Free Paleo Waffles (gluten-free and dairy-free)

These delicious almond flour waffles are perfect for an egg-free breakfast. They require simple ingredients and are free from grains, gluten, eggs, and dairy. They freeze well and are perfect for prepping.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Blanched Almond Flour
  • 1/2 cup Tapioca Flour packed
  • 1 tbsp Avocado Oil
  • 2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 cup Almond Milk or Coconut Milk
  • 1/4 tsp Sea salt
  • 1 tbsp Chia Seeds mill these by using a spice or coffee grinder or a blender
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract or 1/2 tsp vanilla paste
  • 1/2 tbsp Sugar or 1 + 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar

Method
 

  1. Add chia seeds to a spice mill, spice grinder, or coffee grinder and grind into a fine powder.

  2. Add almond flour, tapioca flour, sugar, sea salt, milled chia seeds, baking powder to a mixing bowl and whisk until combined.

  3. Next add vanilla extract, apple cider vinegar, avocado oil, and almond milk to a bowl and mix.

Notes

Tips:
Makes 3 large waffles. Double the recipe for a larger batch.
Use a wire rack for airflow so that they don’t become soggy.
They freeze well, just separate each waffle with some parchment before freezing.
 

Tips to Keep Your Waffles Crispy

When you are done cooking one waffle add it to a wire rack so that the bottom doesn’t get soggy from the steam from the hot waffles.

Alternatively, you can turn your oven on to keep them warm and add them on top of a parchment-lined pan whilst the other waffles cook.

How to Store Leftover or Meal-Prepped Waffles

These waffles will last in the fridge for 5 days or more. In order to reheat and crisp up, simply add one to a toaster, toaster oven, or air-fryer.

They freeze well! Simply add your waffles to a large freezer-safe container and separate each one with a layer of parchment paper and freeze until you’re ready to enjoy.

Almond flour waffles are great for meal prep!
